I have been a member of the Guild of Psychotherapists and United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists since 1997.
My training at Relate and the Tavistock Institute for Marital Studies was followed by Cognitive Analytic Training at the Munro Clinic at Guys Hospital. These years provided a sound basis for the pluralistic training I encountered at the Guild: my therapeutic frame was consolidated there. My thoughts and feelings, confirmed by my encounters with people continually attests to my belief in the importance of our earliest experiences. And the way we see the world, found in the therapeutic relationship, provides priceless understanding in the relationships we form, therapist and client.
I am also recognized as a Psychotherapist with AXA PPP Healthcare, BUPA and Aviva Vitality Health.
Alongside my life of more than 30 years as a therapist in private practice, I worked in primary care for 10 years; for Relate for 10 years; and for the last 20 years for the Guild of Psychotherapists Low Fee Clinic. I am part of its management team, and I undertake Assessments, and run a Supervision Group for trainees. I have participated in some training at the Guild, on Assessment, and on the Guild Supervisors course.
For all of these years I have engaged with people with many diagnoses and degrees of suffering.
Bringing my practice into Victoria is exciting and enables me to extend my years of experience to this wide population. I have engaged with people for very brief, and therefore very dynamic therapy, as well as undertaking longer term therapy.
My practice embraces clients from the many cultures and ethnicities in South London.
I am privileged to work with this broad population of the Black and Asian community. I have worked with refugees, and have engaged with gay, lesbian, transgender clients at, I believe, the deepest level.
I have met many people with personality disorders and obsessive compulsive disorders, but I think my most profound work has been with people with dissociative identity disorders.
My fee structure is wide and reflects, I hope, my philosophy to be part of the community.
